Under the scheme of Assistance to Young Theatre Artistes,
the Akademi has initiated a training programme in
which four to five workshops are organized zone-wise
every year. Under this programme, the Akademi, in
collaboration with Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam
Kala Akademi, Bhopal organized a residential workshop
for young theatre artistes of Madhya Pradesh from
at Pachmarhi. This was the first workshop in the Central
Zone. A total of 145 applications was received: 25
young theatre artistes were selected to participate
in the workshop.
Sri Alakhnandan and Shri Vijay Singh were the Camp
Director and Coordinator respectively. Visiting experts
included Shri G.P. Deshpande (Modern Indian Drama),
Shri Bhaskar Chandavarkar (Theatre Music), Shri H.V.
Sharma (Set & Costume), Shri Rudraprasad Sengupta
(Theatre Management), Shri Ashok Sagar Bhagat (Lighting
Design), Shri Prabhakar Bhave
(Make-up & Masks), Shri Sachin Tewari (Western
Drama), Shri Alakhnandan (Creating Performance Text),
Shri Vageesh Kumar Singh (Acting: Improvisation),
Shri Harish Pathak (Play Reading, Analysis and Criticism),
Shri Alok Chatterjee (Acting:
Voice & Speech), Shri Moinul Haque (Mime), Shri
Madhav Barik (Movement), Regional experts who were
invited to the workshop included Shri Rajendra Avasthi
and Shri Vasant Nirgune.
