At the request of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, Sangeet Natak Akademi coordinated the cultural programme on 20th August 2006 at Veer Bhoomi to mark the 62nd birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister
of India. On this occasion an instrumental ensemble comprising Prateek Chaudhari (Sitar), Rajendra Prasanna (Flute), Murad Ali (Sarangi), and Akram Khan (Tabla); and a Bhajan recital by Meeta Pandit (Vocal), Mehmood Dhaulpuri (Harmonium), Mithilesh
Jha (Tabla) and Manipuri dance by Narayan Nrityalaya, Delhi, were presented.
