Rasleela
Tatha Rasanukaran Vikas An evocation of Lord Krishna by the
enactment of his deeds, Rasleela, which has precursors in the ancient
Indian performance tradition, attained its present identity with Swami
Haridas (1535-1635). This wide-ranging study of Rasleela traces its antecedents
in epic and Puranic literature, examines the philosophical implications
and performative context, and discusses the profuse literature associated
with the form. The performance itself is examined in detail with its preliminaries,
